EBay for Charity is an easy way for buyers and sellers on eBay.co.uk to make a big difference and support Impact Young Heroes. Buyers can shop for items knowing they’re supporting a good cause, be it an everyday bargain or a special auction.

Sellers, whether they’re individuals or businesses, can donate a percentage from any sale to a charity of their choice and add Gift Aid to their donations. Impact Young Heroes can sell items directly on eBay.co.uk as we occasionally get items donated specifically for this purpose.

In addition, all eBay for Charity items will qualify for a fee credit on basic insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage donated.

eBay for Charity partners with MissionFish.

MissionFish is a registered charity (No. 1110538) that helps other charities raise funds online. In late 2005, eBay invited MissionFish to help build a programme which could offer the eBay.co.uk community the chance to support charities when buying and selling on eBay.

By One-Off Donation

By Standing Order

Arranging a Standing Order with your bank enables you to give a regular gift to our charity fund and you have the opportunity to inform us of a preferred area/support service for your gift to help towards our work. Regular giving enables us to plan our future commitments and helps reduce administrative costs.

By Using Gift Aid

For regular tax payers, completing a Gift Aid Declaration form increases the value of your donation by 28% at no extra cost to yourself, since it allows Impact to claim back the tax paid on each and every future gift you may make. (Contact Impact’s office for the form) Higher rate taxpayers also benefit from Gift Aid – they can claim tax relief for donations they make worth 23 pence for each pound donated.

Events

Ticket only events such as golf days, marathons, fun walks and corporate dinners are available for you to participate in as another way of showing your support.

Special Event Auctions

Our charity auctions will be held three or four times a year, enabling interested parties to bid for a diverse selection of items including sports, film and music memorabilia.  Once again all proceeds are donated to Young Heroes.

By Payroll Giving

Talk to your employer to see if you can give to Impact through a Payroll Giving scheme. It is an extremely cost-effective way to give to charity. For example, a monthly gift of £20 costs a regular taxpayer only £15.60 (for higher-rate taxpayers this figure decreases to £12).

By Donating Shares

Giving shares instead of money can substantially reduce your Income Tax bill. For example, if you are a regular taxpayer, a gift of shares worth £1000 would give a £220 reduction on your bill. If you a higher rate tax payer, your bill would reduce by £400. There is also no Capital Gains Tax to pay.

By Giving a Few hours of Your Time

We always welcome volunteers. Whether you feel we could utilise your skills and experience by helping young people to develop their personal self esteem or confidence through our various diversionary and confidence building programmes and activities, by helping young people in their various training workshops and programmes, or by helping our members of staff who are responsible for various fundraising activities and events do get in touch. Even if you have only an hour in some capacity each year to help our service users, your time and energy is greatly appreciated.
